Unforgettable evenings full of emotion: The premiere of our TRES 2018

And once again, the time had come: we presented the new TRES 2018 as a preview, first to international journalists and a few days later to the most important Alto Adige restaurateurs, sommeliers and retailers.

Our guests were treated to special highlights: during the ‘en-plain-air’ staging on our terrace overlooking the 'Millawand', the striking rock face, our artist Carmen Maria Alber painted the motif of this year's label in large format. This was followed by three exciting tastings: The first focussed on the potential of the 2018 vintage, with our SOMA Merlot Cabernet, BRENNTAL Merlot Riserva, KIRCHHÜGEL Cabernet Riserva and FREIENFELD Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva. The second tasting was a blind tasting in which our TRES was able to compete with icons from Bordeaux and Tuscany - and definitely impressed!

Finally, we compared all previous TRES vintages (2015, 2016 and 2018) in a vertical and analysed the development of the wine over the years, before heading to the dolomite barrique cellar, where guests were able to wield mortars and brushes themselves and design their own labels. The evenings were rounded off with a regional dinner by star chef Anna Matscher (Restaurant zum Löwen) at the first event and a beef tasting with special cuts of local beef at the second one.

Here are some impressions:
